Is a Friend Indeed is a Blake/Avon Blake's 7 story by Julia Stamford.
It was originally printed in the zine Fire and Ice #6.
It is a follow-up story to A Friend in Need.
Reactions and Reviews
Now, *this* one I definitely liked. An exhausted Avon celebrates the completion of a difficult computer project by saying "Oh, what the hell" and going to bed with Blake. The sex felt very realistic (right down to Avon being so wiped out he nearly falls asleep in the middle), and I like that a *lot*.[1]
[regarding this story and its follow-up]: So, more issues front and centre that I don't necessarily want to deal with in my B/A fic: Blake is fearful of his child-molesting charges and Avon was raped in prison, so they both have to get over that, but fortunately both of them are very patient and kind to the other. Which... I'm not going to lie, I quite like in amongst all the hostility and misunderstandings that usually populate this pairing, and it's not unrealistic or badly done, but - I wish the fic was a bit more about them, rather than these issues.[2]
