InvaderCON is an Invader Zim convention. It was first held to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the cartoon.

History

The first InvaderCON was held in Atlanta, Georgia by Wasabi Anime in 2011. The con was well received and voice actors even attended, where they read the scripts of the unreleased episodes "Day of da Spookies" and "Mopiness of Doom". One dollar of each ticket purchased for InvaderCON was donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).

The 2012 convention, InvaderCON 2: Doomcon even hosted the showrunner, Jhonen Vasquez. The convention also included a script reading, this time of "The Trial".

The heads of InvaderCON arranged for Invadercon 3: Final Doom in 2014, which they intended to be their last. However, a few years later in 2019 they began raising money on Kickstarter for an InvaderCON in Boston, Massachusetts, for Aug 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was postponed to August 2021.[1] InvaderCON's website seems to have gone down in 2020, with its last Wayback Machine capture being from December 2019.[2]

The Kickstarter for the 2020 InvaderCON stated:

Then maybe - MAYBE - if Enter the Florpus generates enough excitement on Netflix and a new Invader ZIM series is created, we can "get the gang back together" for one more InvaderCON. The fate of future DOOM is in your hands.[3]
