Reactions and Reviews
In this interesting and generally charming novelette, rather than abandoning her strange child, mother Jenny flees with older son Vincent and younger son Alexander, both products of husband Brian's genetic manipulations, to rural Michigan, where the boys grow up, accepted in their oddity by the small-town community. Then, one summer, the daughter of neighbor Donovan's friend Charles Chandler comes to visit, and teen Vincent's world is turned upside-down by a pair of green eyes, despite brat Alex's interference with big brother's first romance. Then what Jenny had always feared happens: husband Brian locates them...and abducts Alex,. Vincent sets out alone to rescue his little brother. Highly enjoyable reading for those who like the shy, tender blossoming of young love. Lavishly and handsomely illustrated by Sandy Chandler Shelton, Michele Sayles, Sandy Holowaty, Pam Tuck, and Jim Garrison. In audio version is available, read by Van Houten and Todd Cass, for $15.00 (US, or an extra $5 ELSE); it includes the artwork in thermal-bound format.[1]
