Fan Comments
This Mirror piece, profile views of Kirk and Spock face to face, the captain's wrist in the Vulcan's grip, is so dynamic - vitality that steams off the page. While appearing effortlessly drawn (making it a very immediate experience for the viewer, as opposed to something that invites a more studious contemplation) it is nonetheless perfectly representational; and also has a real freedom from conventional constraints in the figure/ground relationships; and the light-and-shadow are exquisite. And especially, it expresses a sizzling instant of interaction, captures and portrays such perfect Kirk-ness and Spock-ness. [1]
