Impa is a frequently recurring supporting character in the Legend of Zelda series. After the three bearers of the Triforce—Link, Zelda, and Ganon—Impa has one of the most appearances as a recurring character throughout the series. She often serves as a guardian or nursemaid of Zelda; otherwise her characteristics vary wildly between installments. She is the most notable and prominent member of the mysterious Sheikah tribe, though her sister Purah has become very popular since her debut in Breath of the Wild.
