Illya Kuryakin is a main character in the 2015 film The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (loosely based on the character Illya Kuryakin in the original TV Series).

Background

According to Solo, Illya's father, a top government official, who was caught stealing from Stalin's party funds, was imprisoned in a Gulag camp. Kuryakin being the youngest and best at KGB "within three years," was a way to deal with his family's shame.

Shipping

Based on the unresolved sexual tension between Illya Kuryakin/Gaby Teller and their just married guise, leads to pairing being read as canon, but as it's all subtext based, therefore the can also be seen as fanon.

Gaby is also deeply involved with Napoleon, and the eternal quarrel between both men along with his concern and affection for the young woman, lead fans to not uncommon creation of fanworks where to extend this to a relationship polyamorous Illya Kuryakin/Napoleon Solo/Gaby Teller.

But just like the original series, the Illya Kuryakin/Napoleon Solo pairing is also the juggernaut pairing.
