Fanfiction for The X-Files was frequently characterized by the violence, paranoia, and apocalyptic themes of the series. JiM's Houseboat Variations stands out as a series of stories whose themes are peace, forgiveness and reconciliation between characters who were often violently at odds with one another in the show.
