House of Cards is a 1990 British political drama television serial. It was followed by two sequel serials: To Play the King in 1993 and The Final Cut in 1995. Together, the three serials are known as the House of Cards Trilogy.
The television serials are based on novels by Michael Dobbs, known as the "Francis Urquhart Trilogy".
The trilogy was adapted into a U.S. show of the same name, which premiered on Netflix in 2013.
Fandom
Fanworks created for the House of Cards Trilogy can be difficult to find, as fandom attention focuses primarily on the U.S. version of the show.
FanFiction.Net's House of Cards section was created before the premiere of the American House of Cards. The earliest story there is for the UK trilogy, posted in September 2012,[1] but, as of January 2017, all subsequent stories in the category are for the U.S. series.
As of January 2017, there are 16 fanworks for House of Cards Trilogy (UK) at Archive of Our Own. (Compare to 162 works for the U.S. version of the show.)
Two House of Cards stories were written for Yuletide in 2007, and one story was written for Yuletide 2015. A handful of other House of Cards stories can be found on individual LiveJournals.
