Homestuck Made This World is a podcast from the network Ranged Touch, hosted by Michael Lutz and Cameron Kunzelman. The hosts analyze and contextualize the webcomic Homestuck. The podcast has an academic bent, as the hosts were current and former academics, and often references academic texts. In each episode, the hosts read an assigned chunk of the webcomic, referencing the pages on the Unofficial Homestuck Collection.[1] Kunzelman comes to the comic fresh, without much knowledge at all of the series or its fandom. Lutz not only was an active fan during its publication, but had already written an article about Homestuck in 2019.[2] While Kunzelman enters each episode just having read the assigned pages, Lutz also reads the author commentaries from the Viz published graphic novels[3], Hussie's forumspring, and the Homestuck thread on the forum Something Awful. Lutz could not access the MSPaintAdventure forums nor Hussie's contemporaneous Tweets.
According to the show, Ranged Touch's Discord was having active discussions about the show that sometimes informed the hosts commentary. Lutz also ran a Tumblr to post the images, mostly the fanworks, referenced in the show.[4]
