Reactions and Reviews

ICONIC. Literally, just, iconic. There are a lot of iconic taekook fics, and THIS IS ONE OF THEM. I read this a long time ago (like, June, when it was finished) and always thought about recommending it, but I never got around to it UNTIL NOW. This is one of the very few fraternity fics I like. Please, PLEASE, mind the warnings and stay away from this if it’ll trigger you - it’s VERY explicit, so if you have any doubts, just be safe and don’t read it. This is very sad and the characters are very flawed, and flawed characters make big mistakes. Flawed characters aren’t perfect people. Please, stay safe, but if you end up reading this, let me know what you think. It’s very well written, and the characters are beautifully structured. I love hearing from you all![1]

this story really gets into jk and his troubles in the best way i've seen a book do it. and there's a happy ending? it can't get any better.[2]

when i ask for heavy angst, this is what i mean. it’s renowned in the taekook fandom. so painful and fucked up. please read the tags on this one ten times over. chapter 3 in particular is filled with a lot of heavy shit. one warning the author didn’t put was a warning for dubious consent between jk and a stranger when he is obviously struggling with drug abuse! this happens during chapter 3, fairly in the beginning.[3]

Damn, this story hit me so hard. It’s so so angsty yet so beautiful. What I like about it is how realistic it is and how everything was explained in details. I heard and saw a lot of people say they cried a lot while reading but I thought maybe they were just being sensitive. And, when I started reading I first thought “ah this isn’t too bad” but boy little did I know how hurtful it was going to be as I was about to get deeper into the fanfic. It’s a heartbreaking story, but definitely worth reading. Seriously, if you haven’t read this (and you’re okay with extreme angst) you should read it asap.[4]
