Hepatitis is a Bodie/Doyle story by Anne Carr.
Reactions and Reviews
I love when Bodie and Doyle's work and personal lives are so seamlessly blended that you can't tell if they're already lovers or not when the story begins. Almost everything they say to each other could be as friend to friend. Yet the affection and humor are always there as Doyle sees Bodie through his illness, so that when deeper feelings are expressed you're not really surprised. It's a short story, only ten pages, but just lovely.[1]
Wonderful little story. I love Bodie'a snarky thought/comments on the medical profession. I burned the pamplet! ::snort:: The ending is just perfect and so in character. Ray's declaration of love is so unigue and sightful- just like him. This fic put a bit smile on my face.[2]
Anne Carr is one of those writers who has been rarely mentioned on the lists I'm on but I found to like her writing very much when reading her Pros stories first time almost a year ago. And 'Hepatitis' is the very one I love the most!As you said, I loved the affection and humor floating throughout the story and they made my heart warming. I've just re-read it and laughed out at this line of Bodie's thought;
What am I supposed to say? Don't be late. You're the only bright thing around here that isn't yellow?
She has such a humorous taste which I adore and love. Thanks so much for reminding me this very lovely small story. I must re-read her other stories. What a hardship! ::bg:: [3]
