From the Editorial
Welcome and welcome to the first Lord of the Rings fanzine produced by Battlefields Press. This fanzine has been put together to showcase some of the most amazing writing talent in fan fiction within the Lord of the Rings universe.
As an editor, it is often hard to find enough people to contribute to a given fanzine. This fanzine has suffered quite a bit from the deep concern I held that there would be insufficient fiction to fill the minimum quota of pages that I have set for all Battlefields Press publications. However, many wonderful authors have stepped up to the plate, submitting some truly magnificent stories, which I hope that you, the reader, will enjoy.

The stories contained within these pages are purely of aslash nature, which means same sex pairings. They range from the romantic to the extremely dark, and warnings accompany each story in the front notes of each piece of fiction. The pairings are many and varied, ranging from Aragorn/Boromir, to Haldir/Faramir, to Elrond/Gil-Galad, to Frodo/Gollum, and everything in between. The themes are just as varied, full of contrast between lighter motifs and darker, more sinister tales. Whatever your reading pleasure may be, however, I am confident you will find something to satisfy you within these pages.

As with all fan fiction, disclaimers are required. The locations, characters and contents of the universe created by J.R.R. Tolkien remains the sole property of Tolkien Enterprises, New Line Cinema, J.R.R. Tolkien and all associated affiliates. No money is made from this work; no profit is generated from this publication. This publication is simply a work of collaborative love for the wonderfully rich and vibrant universe of Middle Earth that J.R.R. Tolkien created and which remains as popular today -if not more so -than when his works were first published.
Please be aware that the content of this fan fiction may not be suitable for everyone. You must be of your legal adult age limit for your area in order to purchase this production. You must be aware of the nature of slash and be comfortable with that.
Contents
- The Heirs of Eresse by AC ("A young Gil-galad hears ancient legends in a new light.") (Elves, Orome/Eresse-OMC) (1)
- Broken by Starkiller (Elves and Men, Haldir/Faramir) ("It has been a year since Faramir and Haldir last saw each other. Now Haldir has arrived at Minas Tirith. Will the two feel the same way about each other as they did one year ago?") (sequel to ‘The White Stag,' non-con, slave themes, violence) (6)
- Ghost Story by Rebecca Sama (Elves and Men, Legolas/Boromir, Legolas/Faramir) (29)
- No Shame by Adinshe (Men, Aragorn/Boromir) (non-con) (39)
- On the Shores of Darkness by Lianne Burwell (Elves, Elrond/Isildur, Elrond/Gil-Galad) ("After the fall of Numenor, Elendil and his sons came to Middle-Earth to build new homes, new kingdoms, and to rebuild their alliance with the Eldar. As the building of Osgiliath proceeds, Isildur travels to Imladris, also called Rivendell, to meet the Elven High-King. There, he finds himself strangely drawn to his distant kinsman, Elrond. But in years to come, Sauron will make his return, and the Last Alliance will face him on the battlefield. Isildur will stand on the brink with the chance to destroy Sauron forever. Which will he chose, ring or lover? And will either choice change anything?") (46)

- Sleep by Calle Dybedahl (Elves and Men, Galadriel/Buffy) ("A drabble for Twinkledru’s random hundreds community on LiveJournal. At least it started out as a drabble, but it grew a bit longer. It probably doesn't make all that much sense if you haven't seen the end of the fifth season and the start of the sixth season of Buffy, up to, roughly, Once More, With Feeling. And possibly not even then.") (crossover with Buffy: The Vampire Slayer) (84)
- Something Fishy by April Grant (Hobbits, Frodo/Gollum) (86)
- Slippers by Fire Frog (Hobbits, Sam/Frodo) ("The full title for this piece should read as: ‘‘Lord of the Rings Pervy Hobbit Fancies, Or, Why Fire Frog Should Not Write Smut.” This fic is Hobbit slash, rated R. Usual disclaimers apply.") (90)
- The Very Secret Diary of Grima Wormtongue by April Grant (format based on The Very Secret Diaries (LotR)) (Men, Grima/Saruman, Grima/Eowyn) ("The Very Secret Diary format was invented by Cassandra Claire, whose writings are as funny as heck. However at the time of writing (March 2, 2003), she has not done one for Grima Wormtongue, He was just begging to be done. There is also some Bridget Jones’s Diary influence.") (92)
- excerpt from The Historie by Cloudtrader (Elves, Glorfindel/OC) "Glorfindel's first love, set in the First Age of Middle Earth.") ("This story is of the first love of Glorfindel, one of the Elves of the First Age.") (99)
