Healing Ground is a Highlander Duncan/Joe and Duncan/Joe/Amanda story by Kit Mason. It was originally posted as a series to the Highlander TV Show Stories mailing list in 19 parts on Dec 12, 1996. A printed bound copy of the story is located within the Escapade Fanzine Library.

Reactions and Reviews

An Immortal comes hunting Duncan and nearly kills Joe in the process, but Amanda is there to keep him alive until she and Duncan can get Joe to the hospital. Although, he comes through surgery fine, Joe's recovery is slower than it should be and Duncan decides to take him to the cabin to rest and recover in a peaceful atmosphere. Joe is one of my favorite reasons for watching Highlander and it's a pleasure to see he and Duncan grow closer, spending time together and talking. When Duncan finally decides to let Joe know how he really feels about him, it progresses gently. Of course, the addition of Amanda heats things up. The focus of the story is really on the two Immortals showing Joe how much he means to them before it's too late, because Joe won't live forever and none of them should waste the time they have. I enjoy the slow and gentle pace of this story as well as the focus on Joe and recommend it to anyone in the mood for romance.
