"Headmaster Charlie" by BaseballisMyTrueLove is one of the best-known fics in the Charlie Bone fandom and has been read by most active members of the fandom. It was published on FanFiction.Net and is a crack fic. Set several years post canon, it delves somewhat into the grown up lives of child characters in the series, though most are only mentioned. Some of these stories have become a joke in the fandom, particularly Dagbert's.
Their Lives
Asa Pike: He is a homeless man who sells bracelets.
Billy Raven: Having continued to flip-flop sides, he was eventually murdered by a man who he had betrayed.
Charlie Bone: Though he has "smoked too much alcohol" and can no longer remember the school's name, Charlie is the new headmaster of the Bone Academy (formerly Bloor's Academy). Claerwen, who is his wand which turns into a moth after being burned by Manfred in the series, has turned into a human woman and is now his wife. This is the only known instance of this ship anywhere.
Dagbert Endless: Upon turning eighteen, he became a merman and joined a pod of other merpeople, so his friends no longer hear from him. This piece of lore has inspired some artists to depict him as becoming more merpersonlike and developing scales during puberty. Dagbert briefly turns into a mermaid during one of baseballismytruelove's other fics.
Dorcas Loom: She became Amish.
Emma Tolly: She broke up with Tancred when she was sixteen because he was too tempestuous and she now works as an art teacher at Bloor's Academy. Fans have commented that hers is the most realistic post-canon life and they can see it happening.
Fidelio Gunn: He became a successful musician and played at bullfights in Spain before going deaf and hiding in a cave for years in shame. He has now "come out of the cave" and is engaged to Gabriel Silk. Fideliel (Fidelio/Gabriel, also termed Silky-Jams, a term popularized by Kenzie) is a rarepair in terms of fic content, though few fandom members have negative feelings about it.
Gabriel Silk: He caught bubonic plague from his gerbils but has recovered and is engaged to Fidelio.
Lysander Sage: He left for America, joined the Navy, and married a nurse.
Manfred Bloor: Dead during canon, his ghost comes back and possesses Charlie, forcing him to say awful things.
Tancred Torsson: He has eighteen children, all of whom have storm powers. During the fic, he calls Charlie to tell him that he's being forced to leave England because no one wants him there. His vast number of children is much riffed on. It is not clear whether any of them share a mother or not.
