Summary
The protagonist of CoE, a detective who works for the Otowa Detective Agency. He's young, skinny, and smart, with little memory of his childhood. He has no relatives. His most notable characteristic is his eyes; they're rarely open, closed unless in a serious situation or when surprised.

- In oden, he like konjac noodles. He prefers tea over coffee.
- His hair is dyed, not naturally blonde. He said he dyed it immediately after graduating high school. If you look at Haruki's flashback to middle school at the beginning of Chapter 6, you can see that his hair was originally dark brown.
- Haruki and Otowa are close friends since middle school.
- He has had the ability to manipulate plants since he was a child. After being brought to the research institute and being injected with Empyrean cells, he gained a second ability, 'rock manipulation'.
