got-exchange, or A Song of Ice and Fire Fanfic and Fanart Exchange, began as a Livejournal community in 2011. It holds regular gift exchanges of fanworks focusing on the characters and pairings in Game of Thrones and A Song of Ice and Fire fandom. Participants submit which characters and pairings interest them and whether they prefer the television or the book series, and then they are paired with another individual who will create fanfiction or fan art for them. At its peak it had 1713 members. As of 2017 the community has moved to Dreamwidth.
