Fanon typically holds that Goncharov/Katya is the canonical pairing in the (non-existant) film, with Goncharov and Katya being married. Most fanon focuses on the shipwar between the canon ship Goncharov/Katya and competing ships Goncharov/Andrey and Katya/Sofia. While some explore the possible love triangle between Andrey, Katya and Goncharov which some see as a polycule/triad.
