A playful variant on the word God, meaning "fannish god". Science fiction fans developed a tradition of inserting an "h" into various words. See the Fancyclopedia entries on Ghods and H. Wiktionary says, "This fanspeak word is used instead of the standard form to indicate a fannish context or an association with science fiction fandom."[1]
