Summary
From the publisher:
World War III took only three minutes, but it changed the destiny of Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin forever. Trapped in an underground satrap [?], they are cut off from the rest of the war-ravaged planet. If they are to survive in the limited world their has just become, the partners must reevaluate their lives and their friendship... Journey with Napoleon and Illya from ages 35-70. Are they too old to save the world one more time--and do they really want to? Answer the burning question: vaseline or polygrip? An often humourous and always touching excursion unlike any you've ever taken though the U.N.C.L.E. universe.
Author's Forward
Generally an LFTA [1] is unread by anyone except those with a hand in the creation of the piece, or who are looking to see if their name is listed and can they bring suit. Other uses for the LFTA are to recount the agonies the creator went through. In this case there were no agonies. It was fun! I loved it! I hope you do too.Geezers covers two major incidents occurring 35 years apart in the lives of Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin. I apologize for the irreverence of the title. Others were considered—romantic titles, mysterious titles, action titles—but in my head it was always Geezers, although at one point it almost got called The Man from A.K.-47, That's A.K. as in alter kocker, as in the Yiddish, but in the end that was too obscene even for me. Besides, not enough people would get the joke (Oy!) So Geezers it is. Hot your typical title, but I got off on it. One side note: you will find herein an appearance by Ben Kowalsky. Although Geezers is set in a universe where Illya and Napoleon never left U.N.C.L.E., there's Ben. However, I hope everyone will understand why I couldn't resist giving him this cameo, despite the minor discrepancy it created, and that the readers will find it £n their hearts to forgive me for it. And if not—go do yourself.
I would like to thank the people who were instrumental in the production of this story, and share a few of their comments. Without their support and invaluable assistance. Geezers would never have been. [long and entertaining thank yous snipped]
Reactions and Reviews
1992
The best slash, IMHO, is probably by Nick Tesla, who did not learn about M/M sex from blue videos, if his writing is any indication. His best was GEEZERS, from Samizdat Press. [2]
1993
Geezers has the longest sex scene that I've ever read: 26 pages. You can basically rip it out of the middle of the zine and not miss a thing; it's fairly gratuitous, but the story framing it is fairly well plotted. [3]
False Images and Geezers are good slash, but not for a neo -- they're REALLY explicit. [4]
