Future Shock (or Future Shock - Cameron AKA Nobody - TSCC Season 3) is a Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Season Rewrite published by Nobody_TOK715 to Archive of Our Own and Fanfiction.net. Tagged "Longest Story Ever," it has the highest word count of any work on AO3 as of Nov 2022, with 150,000 hits but only 134 kudos. It continues to be updated regularly.
Future Shock is a companion to the shorter work Outsider, written by the same author, which is now over 83,000 words and 700 chapters on AO3 and 100,000 words over 830 chapters on FFN. Nobody's replies frequently state that "the real stories are Cameron's rhythmic short stories," referring to that.[1]
The FFN upload, which is now titled "More Future Shock - Cameron AKA Nobody (Expanded Edition)," is where the fic was originally published. The author's bio says that "Future Shock was 'complete' at several different chapters. It actually ended at Chapter 150. It could also have ended at Chapter 100 or Chapter 101. Chapter 267 could have been another ending. Chapter 483 would have been another way to end the story. So if anyone 'needs' a complete story, stop at one of those chapters or read the thousands of chapters that follow as bonus chapters."[2]
