History of the archive, as described on the main page:
She was particularly drawn other posters who championed a certain furry-footed hero for whom she had long held a secret passion and mentioned that it would be a good idea to start a "Frodo Appreciation Society". Thus Frodo's Valinorean Harem was born.
Women began to tumble out of the Frodo-closet. They came either finally admitting secret years of obsession, or in some cases, on account of the casting of Elijah Wood as Frodo - the infamous 'Frolijah phenomenon'. Growth was slow at first but steady and the gallant members of the Harem weathered many perils to preserve their dream of residing with their Squire on Tol Eressea. They had hijacked a thread on the original message board and it grew by leaps and bounds, passing 500 replies and then some, but then, there came the Arghopalypse, when the beloved thread was hacked, and lost about nine tenths of its posts. The thread was built up again from the ashes and on the remnants of the old it flourished anew, although not all the hurt could be assuaged. Many of the writings, their treasures, were lost never to be seen again.
Then the whole Tolkien messageboard that was home to the Harem was lost - but this time they were prepared, and had saved much that had been written. The Harem moved to another message board, and then another until they found one that would welcome them with open arms.In order that the literary works of the Ladies of Frodo's Harem should never be lost again, an archive was born. In the pages of the Archive you will see the heart and soul of the Harem, what is, what was and what heights of accomplishment the Squire inspires us to. So, sit back, relax and enter this lovely dream.
