Books
- Manga! Manga!: The World of Japanese Comics - First published in 1983, this was one of the first and best-known English-language reference books on manga. The book won the Japan Cartoonists Association's Manga Oscar, Special Award, in 1983.
- Dreamland Japan: Writings on Modern Manga - Published in 1996, this book covers many of the developments in manga during the 80s and 90s. It's an important English-language source of information on major Japanese artists who remain obscure in English.
