From the Editorial
They had many voices...
I had, in truth, not expected this to grow so large. I had a few short stories in mind, a favorite pairing or some idea that I wanted to see in print and had yet to find. Then, as I wrote, I found another story, another idea would sneak upon me. Yet often, as I sat down to write, I found that the story that would have written, was not the one that came out upon the page.
For the men who had offered to grace my pages often had their own stories, their own voices. I was but the channel that they used to get those stories told and often, as I wrote, I was more amazed then any to hear those tales unfold. If I have, in any way, done their stories justice, then I am pleased. For the pictures that they painted within my head often moved me to tears, or laughter, and sometimes both at once.
Please be aware that the stories which follow this page are not meant to follow any flow or single theme. They do not follow "one after the other” and, in fact, many will contradict each other in theme and history. They are explorations of various possible histories for the characters included here - not a single history followed through the body of the fanzine! They are, as the title of the zine portends; the Fractured Reflections of many different aspects of their assorted souls.
There is but one “type” of history that is consistent throughout (where Aragorn is mentioned in these stories) fannish concept that I have adopted and taken to heart. Aragorn, left in Rivendell by his mother at the age of two, has been raised by Lord Elrond as a son... with love. He thus views his life in Rivendell with joy, and Lord Elrond as a father... not as a stern lord. You will thus see him refer to Lord Elrond as father... and to Elladan and Elrohir as brothers.
Regarding feedback:
I have been in fandom for a number of years. Many will, I hope, recognize my name and will have read slash fiction by me before. For those who haven’t, I hope that you enjoy this, your first introduction to my work. I apologize for my lack of contact information. It is not that I do not care for feedback, I truly do, but with the wealth of ways for fans to reach out and touch today it becomes quickly overwhelming and continuing serious health problems severely limit my time at my computer. Before I had to drop out of fandom, briefly, I had found that I could spend as much as half my ‘writing’ time in just answering daily emails, many of which were not in truth seeking to just send an LOC on what I had written but wanted, instead, lengthy and detailed explanations of upcoming stories, character descriptions, plot descriptions, items that I simply did not have time to do for each and every reader. Yet I do not have it in my heart to tell people no... and so I wrote less, and less, and less until finally I wrote barely anything at all. With the continuing serious health problems this would be even more of a problem for me now than it was for me then.
Now, after my extended time away. Lord of the Rings has called me back and I could not, despite my intent to do so. resist its incredible lure but I have made the tough decision to remain at a distance and simply let my writing speak for me. I know this can be frustrating for you... and you have my apologies. It is for me as well.
