Forgotten Hero was a shrine to the Lord of the Rings character Haldir of Lorien. It had fanfiction (mostly slash), fanart, recs, links, avatars, greeting cards, wallpapers and more. The site was par of the trinity cross collective, network of fan and personal sites created by the webmistress.

This is but a humble shrine to Haldir of Lorien, and all work found within (including the image used in the current layout), were created by and belong to myself, Trinity Helix. Work featured in the the fiction and art sections are clearly marked per author, and if you wish to obtain them for use on another site/archive, please ask for permission from their respective author.

The Golden Mallorn Award for website creation was given to Forgotten Hero in August 2003.

The site navigation of the version archived by the Wayback Machine is invisible but still there.

Comments: One of the best Legolas/Haldir stories I've ever read. Camilla writes Haldir/Legolas the way I always thought they should be written... Definitely a must-read. (Please note that she manages to be true to the original series (Helm's Deep *does* happen), and that there *is* a happy ending.)

Comments: (Written for the Alliance of Men and Elves challenge.) This piece is simply lovely in that it makes the pairing seem entirely believable. Their coupling is both less and more than a mere dalliance, and while there is true feeling involved, there are no illusions as to the romantic nature of the situation. Definitely a must-read. :D

Comments: Cool! The very first non-NC17 on the whole archive! :) Years before the fellowship arrives in Lorien, Legolas and Haldir meet. I won't say anymore, but this is a sweet fic that will definitely leave you smiling. :)

Haldir in Love

Comments: Believable, well-written, and grammatically sound. Haldir's unrequited love for the Lady of the Wood is splendidly subtle, and the new character introduced moves seemlessly into the plot. Haldir is wounded as he guards Lothlorien's borders, and a young woman nurses him to health.

Hospitality

Comments: One of the most interesting H/Ls I've read in quite a while. I don't want to give away too much of the story, but Hospitality is a perfect example of everything a Hurt/Comfort fic should be. Worship Hal. :)

Lack of a Lady

Comments: A gorgeous, snippy fic with Arrogant! Haldir. Featuring excellent prose and conversation to die for, this fic is a must-read for any Elrond/Haldir lover. Also a true testament to the fact that you don't need NC-17 to make a steamy fic. ;)

Lay of Luthien

Comments: Another beautifully written piece by the lovely Gedia. This piece tackles a friendship between the two elves, focusing on brief moments as they grow up, (or at least older). Everything manages to be in complete canon all the while, and for that reason alone it deserves a spot on any archive. :) Short and sweet and sad... without a doubt one of the best fics I have ever read.

Comments: Gorgeous bit of work. It is funny in all the right places, and is one of the most refreshing pieces of work I've ever read. :D (The pairings may seem a bit strange, but it all makes marvelous sense when you read it-- and the great part is that the sex adds flavor to the story instead of being the entire point of it.) Haldir may not be the star, but he is still one of the main characters and that's plenty good enough for me. :)

Delightfully refreshing, and while the author does not stray from Tolkien's old-fashioned verse, she manages to inject much humor into it. Bordering on PWP, but not quite... :D
