Forever South was a due South (perhaps other fandoms) slash convention in Sussex, England.
Con Report
My compliments to you. WILLOW, GLORIA and I enjoyed a truly superb weekend. Now, why can't all conventions be like this? Umm? I thought the wine reception (with Indian buffet) on the Friday night was a damn good idea. The programming was superb, the video selection marvellous, the zine library excellent My only complaint was that the dealers room was a non-starter. However, it was nice to see the committee interacting on a purely social level (none of this 'them and us' nonsense), and the stewarding was SO good I didn't even see them (which is how it should be surely? I'm fed up of being mugged by spotty adolescents demanding to know where my badge is - telling them it's pinned to my knickers has forced me to conclude that the 'youth' of today have no sense of humour whatsoever, or the brains god gave them - I pinned it to my bra!), except during brunch on the Sunday - and what a neat idea, employing a more mature person (and didn't the lady look like you... just a bit?).
By the way, what happened to the disco Saturday night? Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the music videos tremendously, but you just CAN'T beat dancing around a handbag with your friends for a bit of female bonding. What do you think female slash fans do to bond? Replies please in plain brown envelopes...
Yep, the Forever South convention was a great weekend. Can we do it again, real soon please???? And have you found my watch yet and my candle...? [1]
