Foof is a fandom glossary term that dates back to the Roswell fandom from at least 2001. It meant fanfiction that was "harmless, happy, humorous stories (esp. CC ones), love and bonding between characters".[1]
It also appeared in Kingdom Hearts fandom since at least 2003 as another name for fluff.
