Fjord and Beauregard Lionett have a close platonic relationship in Campaign 2 of Critical Role, which started from the very beginning but developed more rapidly after the Iron Shepards arc. Their dynamic contains a little of mentor/mentee flavor (Fjord teaching Beau interact with people). They often refer to each other by their ship titles ("Captain" Fjord and "First Mate" Beau) that originated in the Pirate arc. Fjord often challenges Beau in how she approaches connecting with other people[1].

I actually really liked his brand of reassuring beau, Archived version by fiovske - even if it was laced with sarcasm and probably even more so because it showed that fjord finds the idea of beau leaving the m9 so utterly ridiculous and he also sounds like a 30-yo dad while doing it like, “oh and why would we go in?? because we care about each other?? and do you think that applies to you too??” while poking her and complimenting her delts just the bjreaus dynamic is so good yall.
