Five Nights at Freddy's VR: Help Wanted is the 9th game in the Five Nights at Freddy's indie horror game franchise by Scott Cawthon. Though it is the 9th game it is often referred to as the 8th. It is proceeded by Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator (Dec 2017) and Ultimate Custom Night (Jun 2018), then followed by Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach.
Plot and Gameplay
Five Nights at Freddy's VR: Help Wanted is a VR FNaF game that can also be played in flat mode. This game's plot breaks the 4th wall. Fazbear Entertainment, having been plagued with bad PR, makes Five Nights at Freddy's VR: Help Wanted to "laugh at" the rumors surrounding the company. Gameplay consists of VR segments of FNaF 1, 2, 3, and 4 with mini-games related to 4 and 5, with additional new gameplay called parts and services, and vent repair. The player plays as a new developer testing the game they inherited, and along the way discovers hidden voice logs warning them about a strange living virus that was inside the game. After all tapes are collected it's revealed the virus has attached itself to the tapes themselves, and in order to purge the virus, the player has to half-merge with it then flick a switch to flush it out. However, completing a secret ending after this still results in the player being overtaken by the virus. Not following the tape's instructions results in the same, meaning all endings result in the virus escaping. The secret ending after following the tapes also reveals the player to be named Vanny, who comes back in Five Nights at Freddy's Security Breach. The virus is also implied to be Springtrap, who had uploaded himself into the game by unknown means. In FNaF VR: Help Wanted, he is called Glitchtrap.
