Fic Central was a multipurpose website largely invested in the Twilight fandom, however it is open to both other fandoms and original fiction.

The website functions to promote both little-known and popular fanworks through reviews and teasers, awards, contests, causes, and keeps a comprehensive calendar of fandom events. Fans can used a variety of embedded forms to submit any of the above or to have their fic updates tweeted from the @CentralFics twitter account.

History

The Twilight Awards

The Twilight Awards was founded in late 2008, housed at thetwilightawards.webs.com, simply a list of links to various Twilight fanfiction awards sites within the fandom. Sites were rated according to design, ease of use, and adherence to posted schedules.

In early 2009, the website began including Twilight fanfiction contest information.

In February 2010, in the wake of the Literate Union reporting MA fics on FanFiction.net, the website graduated to the Blogger platform under the domain thetwilightawards.com and included a list of fics that had been TOSsed, pulled, published, or moved by their authors. Interviews and fic update tweets were also added to the website.

In December 2010, The Twilight Awards absorbed the website TwiFic Promotions after it was abandoned by it's founder. The reviews from that site were moved to The Twilight Awards so that they would remain active and searchable.

TwiFic Central

In late 2011, The Twilight Awards outgrew Blogger, moved to WordPress, and changed the name to Twific Central to reflect the shift from simply awards to a more complete range of services and information concerning Twilight fandom. TheTwilightAwards.com was password locked.

In late 2012, as Twilight fans continued to branch out into other fandoms and fanfiction authors began publishing original fiction, the 'Twi' was dropped and the site became simply Fic Central.
