About
From Agent With Style:
Everyone presents a mask to the world, a false face that represents only a fraction of who we really are and which protects the greater majority of our personalities. In this wonderful novel, the antagonist is purposely presenting a mask to deceive the other characters. That is relatively straightforward. The masks Chip Morton and Lynn Murtagh present to each other and their colleagues are more complex. The story itself moves forward on the strength of first recognizing, then chipping away at these masks to see the truth hidden underneath. It's a difficult process, fraught with danger and the unexpected, but very much worth the effort.
