Fallen is a young adult book series by Lauren Kate.

The story centers around Lucinda Price, also known as Luce. She meets Daniel Grigori after some horrible incidents. For some reason she feels like she knows him; it turns out Daniel is a fallen angel and they have been cursed to find each other and fall in love and lose each other over and over again for eternity.

• Lucinda (Luce) Price: She is the female protagonist of the series. She is sent to Sword & Cross after she is blamed for the death of her ex-boyfriend Trevor. Additionally her parents think she is crazy because she can see odd shadows, which she eventually learns are called announcers. Luce first meets Daniel at Sword & Cross.
• Daniel Grigori: He is the male protagonist of the series. He is a fallen angel and has a rivalry going on with Cam because of his interest in Luce.
• Cameron (Cam) Briel: The antagonist of the series. He is a fallen angel and Luce’s secondary love interest.
• Arriane Alter: A fallen angel who befriends Luce in Sword & Cross.
• Pennyweather (Penn) Van Syckle-Lockwood: A friend of Luce in Sword & Cross.
• Gabrielle (Gabbe) Givens: Fallen angel who is disliked by Luce because of her assumption that she is with Daniel.
• Roland Sparks: A fallen angel who is friends with Daniel.
• Mary (Molly) Margaret Zane: She is a fallen angel. She tries to distance Luce from Daniel.
• Sophia Bliss: Also referred as Miss Sophia, she is the librarian of Sword & Cross as well as religion teacher.
• Todd Hammond: Student of Sword & Cross who dies saving Luce from a fire.
• Callie: Luce’s friend from back home.
• Trevor: Luce’s ex-boyfriend who dies in a fire.

Torment (Book 2)

• Miles Fisher: He is a Nephilim and one of the closest friends Luce makes at Shoreline. He develops feelings for Luce.
• Shelby Sterris: She is a Nephilim and also Luce’s roomate at Shoreline. Her love interest is Daniel.
• Francesca: She is an angel and a teacher at Shoreline.
• Steven Filmore: He is a demon and a teacher at Shoreline.
• Phil: An outcast who is after Luce. He is also Shelby’s ex-boyfriend.

Passion (Book 3)

• Bill (Lucifer): Fallen angel and Luce’s first love.
