The "FTP site" is the only archive of Forever Knight fan fiction that is currently still being updated. Its contents are organized by author. It should be noted, though, that the site is limited to stories posted to the FKFIC-L mailing list (excluding war posts).
History
The FTP site was the first archive of Forever Knight fan fiction. When it was initially created in 1996, the site was hosted by Pennsylvania State University as an extension of the FKSPOILR mailing list. Its archivist was Cynthia. The site was deleted without warning; but a copy had been preserved by Mike.[1]
The FTP site was used by Mel Moser as the initial source of stories for her archive at www.fkfanfic.com. At the time she copied them over, many authors were upset. This was partly because their permission had not been asked, but also because, according to Brightknightie,[2] at that time, "many people felt secure having their work in FTP, but not on the Web -- they didn't want to be so easily searchable".
In 1998, when the archivist was no longer able to keep up the FTP site, it again disappeared. However, Stephanie Kellerman decided that she would preserve it by putting it on a site that she would pay for: FKVoyage.com.[3] Someone was able to send her a CD with the contents of the original site. To this, she has been adding new stories since January 1999.[4] Though stories are no longer uploaded by FTP, the site is still known as "the FTP site".
In May 2012, Stephanie moved the FTP site to www.foreverknight.org, since she felt it made sense to consolidate all the Forever Knight material she was hosting on the same website. In July 2023, after her (presumed) death, the site was moved to http://www.foreverknight.ca/FTP/.
