Effie Trinket is a character in the Hunger Games books and films.
Canon
Effie is an escort for the capitol, meaning her job is to draw names and mentor the children who fight (and usually die) in the Hunger Games. Katniss is initially hostile towards Effie, but grows friendlier with her over the course of both the books and films. Effie had a long pre-canon working relationship with Haymitch.
