Edutainment is a neologistic portmanteau for media like tv shows, magazines, video games and other formats designed to educate through entertainment. [1] Some theme parks, like Epcot at Walt Disney World, also focus on edutainment.
There are several edutainment formats, especially among those aimed at a younger audience like The Magic School Bus or Sesame Street, with considerable fandoms. Some of their fans are adults though, who are keeping the merch around for funsies and like to take a trip down memory lane occasionally to revisit their childhood favourites.
