Kudo Shinichi (工藤 新一), a.k.a. Jimmy Kudo, is the protagonist of Detective Conan. A high school detective, he is forcibly shrunk into the body of an elementary school student at the start of the series. He keeps his true identity a secret and adopts the pseudonym Conan Edogawa. Shinichi spends very little time throughout the series in his original body and openly using his true identity. However, he is able to use a voice-changing device as Conan to make phone calls as Shinichi.
Ships
Shinichi's canonical love interest is Mouri Ran. However, there are also many fanworks shipping him with the protagonist of related work Magic Kaito, Kaito Kid. This ship is commonly known by the portmanteau Kaishin.
