Albus/Minerva is a Harry Potter pairing involving Headmaster Albus Dumbledore and Professor Minerva McGonagall.
Fans are drawn to the pairing because of the mutual respect and comfortable relationship the characters exhibit starting from the very first chapter of the series. However, since the revelation by J.K. Rowling in a post-Deathly Hallows interview that Dumbledore is gay, the ship has become less popular and to some controversial.
The ship has also been occasionally called problematic due to the large age gap between Minerva and Albus, as well as the fact that Albus was one of Minerva's school teachers. Although Minerva's age is debated, as she is either fifty-six or sixty-eight years old during the first Harry Potter book, regardless of her canon age there is more than a thirty year age gap between the two.
