Dreams of Sakura was an X/1999 website that stored essays, character bios, reviews, fanfiction, and updates on the latest chapters of the manga.
Its Update page records a live reaction to the last-ever published chapter of X/1999 before the series went on hiatus in 2003:
Back to the others. Kamui lies on the ground, thinking really hard about his wish. He tells himself that his wish is to bring Fuuma back no matter what. Then he recalls that Fuuma has always told him that he is the "Kamui" of the Seven Angels. He also remembers Karen's words to him: "If nobody is supposed to kill anyone, why do we keep losing sight of that which is most important to us?"
Suddenly, Kamui seems to have gain some insight. Just as Fuuma is about to plunge the Shinken, Kamui says, "I..." <
Comments: Major cliffhanger, and CLAMP is taking a two-month break with X! Arrggh!! *tears hair* Anyhow, I'm glad Sorata isn't too dumb. Nonetheless, things don't sound too rosy for him. Any bets that Arashi is going to turn up, with all her memories erased, and coming after Sorata's neck with her claws?to be continued in August issue (June 24)INDEFINITE>
