Fandom
While most people who grew up with the show or watched it as kids feel it didn't age well, Doug has an extremely devoted following among 90s nostalgia fans. Some adults even find the show's themes of insecurity, social anxiety, and seeking acceptance resonate with them despite the show's overall low-key feeling.
Some of the characters and scenes grew into memes over time, particularly Mr. Dink. Doug himself has a reputation among detractors as "crazy" due to his wild imagination and fantasy sequences.
