Distasis is a multimedia fan fiction archive maintained by Laura Michaels that has been around since the 1990s. It is still accessible to interested fans but is currently a private, password-protected archive.

"Distasis" is short for DImensional STASIS and is also the name of a zine. Reprints of some of the fiction from the 'zine are accessible at the archive. The name is a reminder that the material is to be as true and unchanging to canon as possible. Both zine and archives contain positive stories suitable for all ages with upbeat endings. Stories include reprints from out-of-print 'zines plus never published material from a variety of genres with an emphasis on crossovers.

According to the archive maintainer, the Internet has a habit of making interaction between fans more and more anonymous. By turning this into a private archive, it reinforces requiring some type of interaction between story editor, author and reader. In order to access the archive, a reader needs to directly contact the archive maintainer either through one of the related mailing lists or e-mail.
