Honestly, it would never have occurred to me to look for fic about young Bob Fraser and young Buck Frobisher, but I ran across this story one day and was immediately, wholeheartedly converted. It's a short piece, with the two Mounties playing cards by their campfire in the snow, and Greensilver's imagining of their younger selves is absolutely delightful. Frobisher is cheerfully rakish and random, and Bob is simultaneously frustrated and sort of fascinated, and they're both adorably boyish and immature in their own ways; seeing the early days of this friendship that is going to span so many years and miles (and gaseous emissions) is fantastic. A very fun read, guaranteed to leave you smiling.[1]
