Detective Conan Redraw is a collaborative art project to recreate the entire first volume of Detective Conan.

About

This project is aiming to recreate the first volume of the Detective Conan manga by gathering artists that will each be assigned pages to redraw in their style.

This was inspired by fan animation works such as the Spongebob Rehydrated movie or Shrek Retold. This is the re-creation of already existing content, and we claim no ownership or rights to the original panels. This is purely a fan project meant as a tribute to the franchise.[1]

On February 28, 2023, fan artist wol posted a link to a form for fans as an informal interest check for a potential zine for Detective Conan and Magic Kaito[2]. This would lead to the creation of Detective Conan Redraw.

The project was announced as a free-to-download project on March 7, 2023, on Tumblr and Twitter, with an interest check[3]. Artist applications opened from April 1 to April 25, 2023[4]. Over 160 applications were reported to have been submitted, more than the organizer had expected[5]. Results were emailed out around May 1, 2023[6].

The zine was released on November 12, 2023, as a page on itch.io[7][8].
