Destined Oath is a series of free zines for the SoKai pairing of Sora and Kairi from the Kingdom Hearts video game series. The zines were produced on behalf of the Discord server of the same name.
About
The first volume of the Destined Oath was posted on Gumroad on November 28, 2019, featuring five stories and thirteen pieces of fanart[1]. Announcements for the zine were made on the Tumblr and Twitter accounts of the Sokai: Destined Oath Discord server. While the zine was distributed for free, the organizers encouraged voluntary donations to Team Trees with the amount fans would have paid for the zine, as first seen on a contributor spotlight post on December 2, 2019<[2]. Later contributor spotlight posts also continued to promote donations.
On November 26, 2020, the second volume was posted for download on Gumroad, featuring seven stories, and twelve pieces of fanart[3]. The server's social media accounts encouraged fans who enjoyed the zine to donate to Family Promise[4]. A third volume was hinted to be in the works on a post on January 3, 2022[5].
In response to Gumroad pivoting to supporting NFTs, the first two volumes were pulled from Gumroad and announced to be distributed on Ko-fi on February 9, 2022[6].
The third volume was posted on Ko-fi on March 28, 2022, featuring nine stories and twelve pieces of fanart[7].
