Debra Morgan is a main character in the Dexter series.
Canon
Deborah first appears in Darkly Dreaming Dexter, book 1 of the Dexter series by Jeff Lindsay and has appeared in every book as well as every episode of the television series portrayed by Jennifer Carpenter as Debra.
Books
Deborah learns about Dexter's killings much sooner, in the first book of the book series. She later gives birth to Nicholas Morgan sometime between Dexter is Delicious and Double Dexter.
