Deadwood is a American television series that aired for three seasons from 2004 to 2006.
Canon
The series is a Western, nominally about the town of Deadwood as it grows from a camp to a town, but with very ambitious underlying themes. The show has a large ensemble cast that includes many historical figures—such as Al Swearengen, Seth Bullock, Sol Star, Calamity Jane, Wyatt Earp, E. B. Farnum, Charlie Utter, George Hearst and Wild Bill Hickok. The show is famous for excellent scripts and acting, and its use (or overuse) of the word "fuck", a word still uncommon on television in the US, and only possible on Deadwood because it airs on HBO.
