Dancestor is a term in Homestuck canon, which also shows up in fanworks. In Homestuck, some characters are created using laboratory processes, and because of time travel drama, may end up in different times in the various alternate universes present in Homestuck. Therefore one character may be both another character's descendant in some versions of the universe, and their ancestor in others. The word "dancestor", a shortened form of descendant-ancestor, was coined to describe this relationship.
