Canonically appeared in the film Hellboy II: The Golden Army. A villain not intent on simple revenge, kidnaps and/or injures one partner to cause pain for both parties; physical pain for one victim and the psychic, emotional pain the other partner will feel when they know what the other suffered on their behalf.
