" Let me just…listen. ESCUCHAME! There is something about “slow burn” that unnnnn. IT’S BASICALLY LITERARY FLUFFING, OKAY?! And this fic does slow burn so well through the “Sugar Daddy” trope. This is a trope that can be a bit hit or miss most of the time so it’s always lovely to find a good ‘un. Who doesn’t want to be self-sufficient yet have a fine boo willing and able to take care of you, in bed and out, so you can live?! This naturally goes doubly for disturbed empaths burning the psychopath candle at both ends. Especially when the Sugar Daddy in question is Hannibal Lecter.Hannibal seduces Will by buying him things but it’s not the monetary spoiling that gets him (Will). The true seduction comes from Hannibal wanting to pamper Will in all ways, primarily personal attention, which happens to lead to pampering him with material things that further reflect that attention; it’s not about buying Will a car or apartment in the conventional “Sugar Daddy” sense at all. For instance, when Hannibal lends/buys Will clothing accessories and Will gets so turned on at the thought of being taken care of that he needs to masturbate with those same accessories. LAWD! Achievement motherfucking unlocked! Or when Hannibal takes Will fancy!cannibal shopping and makes Will model suits with a D/s subtext coursing throughout the entire scene. That alone is porn so the ACTUAL smut we get on top of it only makes the situation all the more sweet. And by “sweet”, I mean like honey drizzled on my invisible dick and then licked off. I’m just saying. Nom. Give it to him, Daddy!"[1]
THIS. THIS, MY FRIENDS, is one of the best fanfics I’ve EVER read. And believe me, I’ve read hundreds of fanfictions. This one is so powerful I can’t seem to have enough of it. emungere is a HELLA great writer, and I really recommend you to read her fanfics. You want great hannigram, HERE IT IS GUYS. Don’t look anywhere else, it’s here, just here, follow the link, you’ll be mesmerized. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go, I’m basically gonna read every single fanfiction she has written for the fandom so far.[2]
This is a great starter story for Hannigram. By that I mean: it’s beautifully written, in character as hell, and as carefully constructed as is Hannibal’s steady seduction of Will in this tale. I adore this one.[3]

a perfectly-crafted slowburn sugar daddy AU structured around gifts and offerings that tangle hannibal and will gradually into an ever darker, more complicated, more intense relationship. this was one of those fandom-transcendent stories that was of such gripping quality, i read the whole story and its sequel without having any knowledge of the source material and went to watch the hannibal TV series entirely off the back of having read the fic.it’s honestly stunning how beautifully this is written. the consistent characterisation, the slow development and revelation of the dynamic between the hannibal and will, and the powerplay between them is so utterly compelling. i’m so fascinated and enthralled by the exploration of power dynamics, the shifting balance between what hannibal wants, and what he wants to give, and how will is both subsumed by his need to please and be cared for, and is at the same time motivated so strongly by the desire to see hannibal out of control.
everything is just so perfectly on a knife’s edge at all times, it makes the development of their relationship throughout totally riveting.[5]
