"Company's Coming, Dear" is a short Forever Knight story by Imajiru. It was first posted to the FKFIC-L mailing list, and then crossposted to both www.fkfanfic.com and the author's personal website.
The story is set during the childhood of two of the principal characters in the series, Natalie Lambert and Tracy Vetter. Although there is no suggestion in canon that the two met prior to Season Three, in "Company's Coming, Dear", their parents are friends; and Natalie (who is older) is told to look after young Tracy when her family comes over for the day. Natalie is furious at being conscripted as an unpaid babysitter, especially since she assumes Tracy to be a sissy from the fancy party clothes her parents have made her wear. However, as the story develops, she acquires respect for the younger girl.
