CombatFan was a Yahoo group that had moderated membership, with 1,106 members as of 2019. The group's peak period was in 2001-2005 but it has remained continuously active with 20-30 posts a month (although this is down from its peak of as many as 1000 messages a month).
Description
For fans of the classic '60s TV show COMBAT!, TV's longest running WWII drama honoring the frontline U.S. infantryman. On ABC from 1962 through 1967, "Combat!" starred Vic Morrow as Sergeant Saunders and Rick Jason as Lieutenant Hanley. The show depicted the exploits of a U.S. Army platoon fighting across Europe during World War II following D-Day. This mailing list was formerly run from aurora.com, later aurora3.com. The CombatFan group is the direct descendant of the aurora list and has been in continuous operation since 1994. It is associated with the CombatFan web site and the Combat!Facebook page
