Reactions and Reviews
1989
Is it reasonable that Starfleet would send a captain and first officer to investigate a planet where the previous team met with mishap? (Well - I guess the series did set a precedent, didn't it?) Once past this hurdle it was an entertaining story, but the original premise seemed so unlikely that the whole thing didn't seem real. Also, it seemed they accepted the revelations rather too readily — "Let's get on with this." ?? I don't see them being that agreeable. [1]
The story had a nice feeling to it that left me smiling. Nicely paced, and the conversation seemed very natural. The author described the setting well, so that I felt like I knew what it was like to be on the planet. Also, this was a wonderful depiction of Spock's constant interest in that damned tricorder! A very nice piece of work. [2]
